Kyrion Media’s Editorial Guidelines
Version dated August 25, 2025
At Kyrion Media, our mission is to ensure that every press release we distribute meets the highest editorial standards. These guidelines outline the requirements for content, formatting, and compliance to maximize acceptance by media outlets and ensure credibility with your audience.
By submitting a press release for distribution through Kyrion Media, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines.
1. Quality & Professional Standards
-
-
Newsworthiness: Press releases must have a clear and timely news angle — e.g., product launches, company milestones, partnerships, events, awards, or expert insights. Pure advertisements or sales pitches will not be accepted.
-
Accuracy: All content must be factual, clearly attributed, and free of false or misleading claims. Opinions must be quoted and attributed to a spokesperson or organization.
-
Tone: Content should maintain a formal, objective, and professional tone. Avoid hype flags such as excessive capitalization, exclamation marks, or exaggerated claims (“world’s best,” “amazing,” etc.).
-
Respectful Language: Releases must not contain threats, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, defamatory material, or content intended to harm individuals, organizations, or communities.
-
Original Content: Each press release must be original. Duplicate or copied content from other publications is not accepted.
-
2. Format & Structure
Every press release must include:
-
-
Headline – Clear, concise, and news-driven.
-
Subheadline (optional) – Adds supporting context to the headline.
-
Dateline – City and date of release.
-
Body Content – Well-organized, fact-based information written in paragraph form.
-
Boilerplate/About Section – A short description of the organization issuing the release.
-
Contact Information – Name, title, phone, and email of a company spokesperson.
-
Technical Notes:
-
-
Press releases should be between 300–800 words.
-
Avoid HTML tags, non-standard characters, and ALL CAPS formatting.
-
All links must be functional. Limit to one link per 100 words to avoid spam flags.
-
Email addresses in the body will be reformatted (e.g., name (at) company (dot) com).
-
3. Grammar & Readability
-
-
Press releases must be free from spelling and grammatical errors.
-
Define acronyms and avoid heavy jargon so the content is easily understood by a broad audience.
-
Ensure smooth flow, readability, and professional formatting.
-
4. Legal & Compliance Requirements
-
-
Legal Content: Any press release involving legal matters (lawsuits, settlements, regulatory actions) must cite official documentation such as case numbers or court filings. Kyrion Media may request proof of settlement or authorization.
-
Authorization: If your release mentions other individuals, companies, websites, or ticker symbols, you must obtain written permission from authorized representatives.
-
Sensitive Topics: Releases should not attempt to influence public opinion about pending legal cases, nor contain libelous or defamatory material.
-
Financial & Cryptocurrency: Any financial or crypto-related announcements must include transparent details (registered business address, verifiable contacts, and regulatory compliance if applicable).
-
5. Prohibited & Restricted Content
Kyrion Media does not distribute press releases that:
-
-
Function primarily as advertisements.
-
Contain false, misleading, or unverifiable claims.
-
Promote academic writing services (essays, dissertations, etc.).
-
Contain or link to sexually explicit, illegal, or profane material.
-
Promote gambling, payday loans, tobacco, weapons, weight loss supplements, sexual enhancement products, or unregulated pharmaceuticals.
-
Promote get-rich-quick schemes, stock tips, forex trading bots, cloud mining, or black-hat SEO services.
-
Contain malicious scripts, viruses, or harmful code.
-
Include duplicate or recycled content already distributed.
-
6. Political & Advocacy Content
-
-
Political releases must clearly identify the campaign or organization, with valid contact information and (if applicable) a campaign website.
-
Local campaign releases without formal websites must provide verifiable social media profiles and a responsible contact person.
-
Content should focus on policies, events, and positions — not attacks on individuals or groups.
-
Opinions must be attributed as quotes to an organization or spokesperson.
-
7. Publication & Revisions
-
-
Once submitted and accepted, press releases cannot be retracted.
-
While Kyrion Media strives for wide distribution, final publication depends on the editorial standards of receiving outlets.
-
If a press release is rejected for failing to meet guidelines, refunds will not be issued.
-
Kyrion Media reserves the right to edit for formatting, grammar, and compliance before distribution.
-
